A SNEAK PEAK OF THE DANISH EXPO PAVILION
On November 30th, The Commissioner General for Denmark at EXPO 2010 Shanghai, China, Ambassador Mr. Christopher Bo Bramsen opened the pavilion preview at the EXPO site followed by a reception to celebrate Denmark’s participation at EXPO 2010 Shanghai.
Though still a construction site, the massive steel constructions of the EXPO pavilions are no less than breathtaking. - A playground for some of the worlds best architects, where there seems to be no upper bound on the creativity put behind the design of the national pavilions. However, standing on top of the huge steel construction, glancing down at the centre of the pavilion where the Little Mermaid will soon be seated, it’s hard not to be stunned. The design of the pavilion is unique, and so is the idea of placing the Little Mermaid as a symbol of the Danish welfare – the Danish Welfairytales.
During the EXPO, running form May-October 2010, the Danish Pavilion will offer a Danish perspective on sustainable solutions to urban challenges under the overall theme “Better City, Better Life”. The pavilion will be open to visitors and act as a showcase for Danish sustainable city life.
